City TV is a local station for Toronto. This channel has set many standards in innovative styles of programme making, pioneered by Moses Znaimer. Originally owned by CHUM who's porfolio also included cable stations, MuchMusic, Star!TV, Bravo!, Space and MusiquePlus.
Currently it is owned by Rogers Communications. City TV Toronto will be moving to a new facility at the corner of Yonge & Dundas in the near future. CablePulse 24, Bravo, Space, MuchMusic are now owned by CTV. CTV bought CHUM earlier this year. The CRTC (broadcast regulator) forced CTV to sell off City TV due to ownership concentration. That's when Rogers bought it. Rogers will be moving its multicultural channel called OMNI into the same building as City TV when it opens either later this year or in 2009.

City Pulse Tonight1996 City Pulse is one of channel's ground breaking programmes for presentation style. It has been copied by many broadcasters, notably for using its newsroom as the studio, where the presenter has no desk, and stands or sits on a desk. (remember channel 5 news?)
