Tele5 became Deutsches Sportfernsehen (German Sport Television) at the beginning of 1993.  As well as offering a variety of sport programming, DSF fills its 24-hour schedule with quiz phone-in shows, teleshopping and erotica - indeed some weekday schedules only include sport in the evenings.  Its permission to broadcast is based on it being a sports channel, but it defends itself against criticism in this area by pointing out that the other programming helps it buy the expensive rights to more high-profile sporting events.

A promo for DSF's regular programming, including 'Offensiv' (in the sporting sense of 'not defensive', rather than 'rude'), a sport-based chat show, live sports magazine 'DSF Studio', and retrospective 'Classics'.  Presumably made before the channel had launched, the promo lacks any kind of atmosphere or mood by being made up only of its graphics packages without any programming clips.
