Francois took this black and white photo in 1971 of a transmission from the Sutton Coldfield trasmitter, this symbol is a variation to the one shown on the left. It features the word "Colour" in a different typeface called Eurostyle Extended Bold.1974 - 1981

BBC1 Midlands21.04.1981 Our second rare treat from BBC1 Midlands features a full regional link plus the full afternoon news bulletin. The clip includes 58 seconds of the BBC1 Midlands clock. BBC1 had been showing a programme in Welsh which is why we see the children's programme rundown ahead of the news bulletin, rather than test card F.
