2001 was to be a significant year for the BBC in the South East (Oxfordshire having been transferred to BBC South a year earlier.
Monday September 3rd 2001 saw the creation of the 2 new BBC Regions. BBC South East became a dedicated service for Kent and East Sussex, BBC London and South East became BBC London, or simply BBC LDN.
