Monday September 3rd 2001 saw the creation of the 2 new BBC Regions. BBC South East became a dedicated service for Kent and East Sussex, BBC London and South East became BBC London, or simply BBC LDN.
 
The new BBC regional service for Kent and East Sussex finally began on Monday 3rd September 2001. The new service is based at the Great Hall in Tunbridge Wells.
