The BBC North Region we know today was born in 1968. The news magazine programme was named Look North, not to be confused with the other BBC news magazine from Newcastle called Look North! Early presenters included Barry Chambers and Philip Hayton, with Harry Gration arriving in 1982. These are the titles for the new Leeds edition of Look North. Introduced in 1968.1970s

BBC Leeds started broadcasting their own edition of Look North on 25th March 1968. This was their 35th Anniversary item. A film piece was followed by an interview with Brian Baines and the cutting of a cake. Such extravagance!

Monday 27th September 2004 saw BBC Yorkshire broadcast the first edition of Look North from it's new broadcast centre in St Peter's Square. The move was part of the BBC's aim to get closer to the viewers.
