BBC2 Morning link1978 For many years BBC2 was an evening only service - they'd only come to life during the day for educational programmes, Service information and, of course, Play School. Here's a typical link between programmes into Play School - lots of fader clonking!

Christmas on BBC21978
While the search continues for the medeival trumpeters ident BBC2 used for Christmas in 1978, we have however managed to unearth this promo which shows the graphics which accompany the theme. This was broadcast in late 1978 as a BBC strike threatened to cripple the corporation's Christmas programming - which for BBC2 included James Galway and Hansel and Gretel - but in the end the action was called off in time for the big day.
