BBC2 Christmas Day menu
1987

BBC2 Yes Prime Minister apology
1988
BBC2 is forced to deliver an on-air apology after last week's programme suggested that participants of the Young Enterprise scheme may be less than honest...Martin King hopes his customary enthusiasm will placate those who were offended.

BBC2's programme slides moved onto Paintbox in the late 1980s, we don't know precisely when. The first attempt is an electronic version of the original design, eventually BBC2 settled for the "strip" version.

BBC2 Christmas Promotions
1989
Christmas on BBC2 again, and it wouldn't be in character for BBC2 to use traditional imagery in its festive promotions. What the theme was for 1989 remains a mystery but this sequence highlights - if nothing else - the consequences of seasonal overindulgence! A look ahead to Christmas Eve on BBC2 features more of those unusual graphics.

1990
Fry and Laurie take over this run-down to place the emphasis on their new series.

BBC2 Christmas Promotions
