The first of the "2"s to be used regionally was Water, from 18 February 1991. At first the music was turned down when the announcer spoke.
Blade was very rarely used in the South West, I got this recording purely by chance in December 1994.

Regional idents aren't completely dead on BBC2! There are still occasions when the news moves to BBC2, usually during Wimbledon or other sporting events, when that happens the regional variations of "Bounce" can be seen.
