Click for larger image Following the successful revival of NBC's American Gladiators in the US, the British version was remade for the 21st century, produced by Shine for Sky One. Eight years since it was last shown on ITV, Sky's version aired in May 2008 and features the biggest tv set in history - built on 2 sound stages at Shepperton Studios. Kirsty Gallacher and Ian Wright present, alongside Gladiator's original referee John Anderson.

Contestants guided a blindfolded cameraman who operated the 'telebow' which was basically a tv camera with a crossbow attached to it. The bow was loaded by Bernie The Bolt. The show was originaly hosted by Jackie Rae and transmitted on a Saturday evening.
 
By 1970 Bob Monkhouse was the host and the show was moved to Sunday afternoons.

The show was revived in the '90's with hosts Michael Parkinson, Anne Robinson and Michael Aspel. The expert in the revival was Eric Knowles.
