The task of designing the network on-screen promotional material for ITV was shared by the 5 largest contractors. In this example - a short animation for an Autumn promo campaign, was designed by Graham Smith at the Yorkshire TV graphic design department, with the cutting edge computer animation (of the time) produced by Paul Docherty of Electric Image in London.

ITV Promos1988 A whopping 2 minute promo here from 1988, featuring all the regional logos and a host of ITV talent from programmes including Brideshead Revisted, Minder, Coronation Street, This is Your Life, Blind Date, Saint & Greavsie, and Boon. This promo was ITV's response to the changes being proposed in the 1990 Broadcasting Act, then going through parliament. ITV understandably didn't want any changes to the status quo, so it was intended to remind viewers what a good thing they currently had.
