Border Television began broadcasting, from Carlisle, to South Scotland and Cumbria on 1st September 1961 and to the Isle of Man from March 1965. Taken over by the Capital Radio group in 2000, Border are now part of the Granada Media Group.

ITV1 Border Ident
2002
On Monday 28th October 2002 a brand new look was introduced for ITV1. All networked programming was preceded by the ITV1 network idents. Regional idents were now only used prior to local programming. This ident from Border features William Roache, who plays Coronation Street's Ken Barlow.
