Outside the news operation, a secondary division was established to pitch for regional documentary slots in both the Carlton/LWT region and the "mini-network," comprising of the other franchise areas controlled by Carlton at the time: Central, Meridian and HTV. LNN Factuals made use of the news crews and editing facilities, but the production offices were based outside of the London TV Centre, a few streets away at 16 Hatfields, London SE1.

2002
Made on a budget that was as cheap as chips, this mostly harmless Lorne Spicer vehicle seemed popular with daytime audiences. Each edition was filmed on location at car boot sales across the south-east, during which Spicer encouraged teams of contestants to invest in toot. Experts Paul Heklin and Mark Oliver elected the winning team based on the maximum likely value of the toot that had been chosen. There were quarter-finals and semi-finals across each series, with the ultimate aim to find the region's King & Queen of the Bootsales. TX date of this example: 19/09/02. Spicer is now better known as the host and co-creator of a similar format, Car Booty, made by Leopard Films for BBC1.

19/11/2002
James Bond's 40th anniversary and 20th movie, 'Die Another Day', were celebrated in this hour-long ITV1 special. Julia Bradbury was the host - an understated performance - and the programme was screened on the night after the big event in London. Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, George Lazenby, Pierce Brosnan, Halle Berry, Toby Stephens, John Cleese, Burt Kwouk and even Madonna showed up. Everyone, in fact, except Sean Connery and Ross Kemp was in this programme. At least LNN used the correct spelling of 'premiere' this time; the programme they made in 1999 about the launch of 'The World is Not Enough' was called 'Premier Bond'.
