ABC (Associated British Corporation) was awarded the weekend franchise by the ITC for the North. They began broadcasting on 5th May 1956 to the North West. It's studios were based in East Didsbury, Manchester they have now been demolished. In 1968 their weekend service in the North West was replaced by Granada Television.
