By the looks of things, that animation had gone by the end of the fifties and static captions would be Granada's way of doing things for the next 30 years.

The same ident, just with bigger writing. The reference to Granada being "from the north" was because Granada also broadcast to the eastern side of the Pennines as it wasn'r until 1968 that a separate franchise for Yorkshire was introduced.1968

This logo is from 1968. They used it after the francise change - when they ceased to become "From the North" and became "7 Day North West". They didn't use this logo for long and soon changed to the Granada G arrow.1968 - 1970s

Granada celebrated their 30th Birthday with a selection of animated idents with jingles. For some reason they returned to mute static captions until 1989.

Granada Olympic Bid Ident
Manchester was one of the cities which bid to host the 2000 Olympics. Granada commissioned an ident to show its support for Manchester's bid. Manchester lost out to Sydney but shortly after, the city was awarded the 2002 Commonwealth Games.Granada Stings & Idents 1994 - 1995
Granada used live action idents from the Spring of 1994. They would be used at the start of programme promotions and as idents before Granada Reports.
Designed, produced and directed by Peter Phillips they feature shots from all over Granadaland, combined with a flag featuring the Granada stripe. Photography by Sprockets and music composed by The Ded Good Music Company.

A slight change of image from Granada in 1995. Designed by Peter Phillips, instead of using CG, a large perspex G was shot using motion control.
Multiple passes were taken and composited together to create the final look.

Another variation of the ident came later in '95. Shot entirely in-camera, slit scan effects and different lighting conditions were shot and then combined to create this colourful ident.
