Ian Stirling
The ever-popular Ian Stirling introduces Joe 90, complete with the full TSW ident.
Jilly Carter
Jilly Carter joined TSW as an announcer in the early 80s; this is her in action. Features short TSW ident.
Jennifer Gavin
Judi Spiers
Perhaps the best-loved TSW personality was Judi Spiers, the South West's resident funnygirl. However, she's fairly straight here as she introduces lunchtime pre-school programmes.
Roger Shaw
Roger Shaw was chief announcer on both Westward and TSW. Here he introduces The Price Is Right, with his customary warm manner.
Jeremy Curry
Ian gets beamed up!
Roger Shaw
Two clips of Roger on TSW's 1987 IVC set; he first introduces the network television premiere of "Ghostbusters", then he briefs us on the weather to expect before going into Dame Edna's festive special.
David Fitzgerald
David Fitzgerald joined TSW around 1986 and soon became established as one of the station's most familiar faces. Here he is in 1988 - the continuity studio would soon become more interesting visually.
Ruth Langsford
It may have been Christmas Day, but business as usual for Ruth Langsford on a suitably-decorated set. The sofa was now a permanent fixture - would it have survived past 1992?
Roger Shaw
Mark Seaman
Mark Seaman was among the many guest announcers who passed through TSW from time to time. But just what is he up to here? Watch the clip and all will make sense... Note the new daytime continuity set, introduced to tie in with the "Four Seasons" identity.
Ruth Langsford
Christmas Day has been and gone but Ruth Langsford keeps the party going on TSW - here she is in the final weekend of 1990. My sincerest apologies for the idiot who hit the pause button mid-announcement...
Dinah Lawley
Ruth Langsford
All weekend viewers experienced picture break-ups and freezes. Was everyone's set on the blink? No - the problem was caused by the weather, as Ruth explains. Later in the year, she introduced a Richard Digance special. And she's keen to point out Richard's connections to the region...
Sally Meen
David Fitzgerald
David Fitzgerald introduces TSW's final Telethon - ITV's fund-raising spectacular. Sadly Telethon was axed later that year. Why?Ian Stirling - 1992
The late Ian Stirling at his most versatile in four clips recorded in Autumn 1992. The axe was looming for TSW but the show must go on, as they say, and Ian's enthusiasm showed no sign of waining. Included among this batch is one of his legendary soap links - this one for Home and Away which, in a new evening slot, has caught Ian's eye.
Emmerdale secrets outThe end of TSW
Ruth and Ian say goodbye
For TSW's final evening on air, Ruth Langsford joined Ian Stirling on the sofa to help entertain those of us spending New Year's Eve at home. And when those two got together, they unleashed a popular and much-missed double act. Here they are just before "A Day In The Life Of..." at 7:30pm.

Promotions
TSW Local News Promo
TSW promise a new approach to local news in this film, first shown during TSW's Opening Show.
TSW / ITV Stings
Throughout its life, TSW was fiercely regional and would promote itself as a station in its own right rather than part of a network. However, there were occasions when the corporate ITV branding got a look-in, but of course it was on TSW's own terms...
TSW Sales Advert
It costs less than you think to advertise on TSW. Here's TSW's Regional Sales Manager Martin Bowley to tell us more..
Gardens For All trail
Terry Underhill looks forward to his November diary programme, and interestingly our clip followed a firework safety PIF so Terry will no doubt have a fair bit of cleaning up to do from Guy Fawkes Night on top of everything else!
TSW Christmas Line
Yorkshire and Thames/LWT's festive helplines were well-trumpeted, but TSW's was a more low-key affair (to the extend where I personally have no recollection of it!) Rene Wyndham is here to tell us more.
TSW Business Awards
Nominations are now being sought for TSW's annual Business Awards, although I don't ever remember this at the time. So if your company fits the bill, call now!
TSW - Busman's Holiday trails
A regional adaptation of a network promo for Busman's Holiday here - in our first example the TSW logo is added, then they go the whole hog erase the ITV logo...
TSW - Image Promo
TSW likes to make you feel at home. That's the tagline of this promo in which TSW favourites join a family on a cosy evening in. Taken from 50 Years of ITV in the Westcountry, hence the narration from Richard Bath.
Emmerdale trail
Every Emmerdale fan's dream...to pull their own pint in the Woolpack. But it helps if you work for ITV, and David Fitzgerald steps behind that famous bar to promoto Emmerdale to South West viewers.

TSW Community Announcement
Community Announcements characterised TSW from the outset. The short inserts were very simple in style - representatives of local organisations would come into the studios to publicise their cause. This example is for the Cornwall Bat Group.
