Westcountry Live
1999
Miraculously, Westcountry Live remained when Carlton took over. There were no on-screen changes to the programme, which continued to use titles introduced two years earlier.
Westcountry Lunchtime Live
2000
The shifting of ITV's evening news to 6:30pm posed a major problem for Westcountry; they could no longer show an hour-long evening news programme. So Westcountry Lunchtime Live was born. This sequence is from April 2000.
Westcountry Weekend
2001
Launched in 1999, this what's-on and leisure guide followed a similar format to Westcountry Live. Presenters Lorna Dunkley and Kurt Parry anchored from a different location each week. The show fell casualty to network scheduling in 2001.
Westcountry Sunday Edition
2002
Presented by Graham Smith and Dulcie Gallagher.
A new Sunday teatime magazine offering a Newsnight-style analysis of the week's top talking points. Graham Smith, Westcountry's chief political editor, presents. The programme also incorporates the evening news bulletin.
Westcountry Live
2002
Presented by Lorna Dunkley and Richard Bath.
After almost five years Westcountry Live received a bold new makeover. Enter a modern Sky-like logo and the catchy theme is dropped in favour of - synthesisers. Presenters now sit on a sofa (has someone been watching Central News?) but still no sign of widescreen, sadly.
