Today South West - First Edition
04.01.1982
TSW's nightly news show inherited most of Westward Diary's presenters, including Kenneth McLeod. The theme was also used for TSW's signed weekly roundup, The South West Week.

1982
A later edition from the same era. Poor Kenneth appears to be on his own though...

The South West Week
1982
TSW's weekly news series for the deaf. The best of the week's stories were reviewed with signing and subtitles. The original signer was Gordon Chapman, succeeded by Jon Lee and the incumbent Peter Wareham.

1983
Pete Barraclough presents the Saturday evening results service, from what appears to be the continuity studio.

TSW Late News
1984 and 1986
Like Westward before them, TSW used a simple slide to introduce lunchtime and late news bulletins but modern news presentation caught up with them in 1987.

TSW News
1987
The sting which opened early morning/lunchtime news bulletins from 1987.

TSW News
1987
Two early morning bulletins read by the late, great Ian Stirling.

TSW Today
1988
In 1986 Today South West's name was shortened to Today, and there were new titles and music. The rhombus boxes look familiar - think Westcountry Live! Sue King has now defected from the BBC to co-present with Chris Rogers.

The Friday Show
1987
On Fridays things were different. Today became The Friday Show - an hour-long vehicle for Kenneth McLeod with the emphasis on lesiure and entertainment. There was still the news of course!

TSW Today News
1988
A new hi-tech sting (well, we thought so at the time) for the lunchtime and late bulletins, but the music is as 1987.

The South West Week
1988
Lawrie Quayle presents this episode; the original "Today South West" theme lived on.

Newsport
1990
The Saturday sports round-up seven years later. Announcers now read the bulletin. Rather strange that filmed titles were still being used in 1990; mind you, this sequence first appeared in 1987.

TSW Today
16.10.1991
Presented by Sue King.

In 1989, "Today" was renamed TSW Today and this title sequence was first shown in Autumn 1989. This edition breaks the news that TSW has lost its licence to broadcast in the government's controversial franchise auction.

TSW Today - Final Edition
31.12.1992
Presented by Sue King and Kenneth MacLeod.

Time finally runs out for TSW; in Februrary the House of Lords threw out their appeal against the award of the franchise to Westcountry Television. In an hour-long edition, also TSW's final live broadcast, it's time to say goodbye.
