
In 1997 BBC News 24 was launched, so to coincide with this, BBC World was given a makeover with a simple logo superimposed at the bottom of the screen to match all of the BBC channels at the time.

Alistair Yates with the overnight service (1.00am - 5.30am) from BBC World. It was also simulcast on BBC One and BBC News 24, hence the change of name to simply 'BBC News'
