ITN News Channel - First Transmission2000 The ITN News Channel was launched in August 2000 on both Digital Satellite and Cable networks. It was originally jointly owned by ITN and cable operator NTL and broadcast 24 hours a day from ITN's headquarters.
The channel became jointly owned by Granada, Carlton and NTL, Granada and Carlton having bought out ITN's 65% share in the Spring of 2002. Subsequently the channel was re-named the ITV News Channel on Monday 30th Sepember 2002.

War on Saddam - 2003
March 2003 saw the start of the second Gulf Conflict with the War on Saddam.
To strengthen it's performance the ITV News Channel drafted in some "Star Presenters", including some well loved former ITN Newsreaders.
