On October 1st 2001 Sky News introduced a distinctive red and blue new look. Bold graphics with new animations and a brand new 'newswall' Sky leading the field in news presentation once again.
These titles with a dramatic new theme are from the relaunch day at 5pm with Jeremy Thompson and Natasha Kaplinsky

In 2002 the channel introduced Sky News Today, a faster paced morning news programme from 9am till 1pm presented by Martin Stanford and Julie Etchingham.
Presentation came from the newsroom, with stories and interviews done from a desk and headlines told from the new videowall. Emails from viewers and polls are extensively used to make the programme more interactive.

right clip - For breaking news the videowall behind the presenters would always turn red, which was a great attention grabbing technique in alterting viewers to the latest news. Sky dropped this all red backdrop for an all-white theme in 2005, which was a shame.
