Carlton World was a general entertainment channel which launched in 1998. It shared the same OnDigital channel (34) with Carlton Kids and broadcast in the evenings.

Click for larger image These Carlton World idents aired with the launch of On Digital on Sunday 15th November 1998.
 
Produced by Carlton's in-house design department, the logo was designed by Paul Robb, and the moving graphics designed by Clarissa Donlevy. Computer graphics were ditched in favour of physical and in-camera effects, to create a series of 7 natural and organic looking idents.

1999
Click for larger image Visual effects specialist Artem and Moving Picture Company were hired to make the idents. Various exposures were taken to achive the effects from high speed to slo-mo rates of just 6 frames a second.
 
In this ident various tanks were filled with varying solvents and dyes to achieve the clouds effect.. an intense blue light was also used in the background, flickered on and off.
