The History Channel was launched on 1st Jan 1995.  Co-owned by Disney, NBC and Hearst (known in the US as "A&E Networks"), it broadcasts round the world in various forms.  Not to be confused with Canadian channel "History TV", which does show some History Channel programming.

The presentation used here was exactly as used in the US. The custom music for the channel was created by 615 Music.
