Click for larger image The early 1990's saw a more "traditional" ident from S4C, depicting a piece of Welsh slate with colour blue green and red washing over the letters S4C.

S4C Dragon Kite Ident
1993
The mid 1990's saw a new set of idents introduced. This time inanimate objects would depict a dragon

The theme was carried on using further examples of Dragons, here we have a scissors.
 
S4C had by this time introduced a new ident and a new font

A whole new look was introduced in 2007.
 
Designed by Proud Creative, live action idents feature the idea based around "the invisible patriotic energy which binds Welsh people together."

Here's a late 80s clock into the news on S4C



BBC Cymru produce an average of 12 hours of welsh language programmes a week for S4C. These programmes are funded by the license fee. This obligation is the result of the 1990 Broadcasting Act.

Click for larger image A nice Celtic Cross was the first ident introduced by BBC Cymru to proceed all it's Welsh language programmes broadcast on S4C.

1988
Click for larger image Following the Celtic Cross, BBC Cymru introduced this magnificent Dragon. It was also used as the BBC Cymru Wales letterhead at the time.
 
Sadly BBC Wales no longer use an ident on S4C.
