
Eurosport, the all-sport, all-action sports channel. For it's launch two of Britain's leading figures in sports television headed the channel. Head of programmes Adrian Metcalfe, an Olympic silver medalist, Metcalfe spent 7 years as commissioning editor for sport at Channel 4 and was involved in setting up, producing and presenting on ITV's World of Sport. Joining him as controller of production Richard Russell, who previously was executive producer at ITV Sport.

Eurosport was part owned by Sky, and launced as a 12hour service showing European and International events from a consortium of EBU members including the BBC.
