Sky Soap began life in 1994, broadcasting 12pm to 4pm, showing a mix of American daytime soaps and British soaps such as Emmerdale and Take the High Road.
 
Sharing a channel, 5 days a week with The Christian Chaannel, Sky Travel, The History Channel, Sky Sports 2 and the Sci-fi Channel. In 1997 it moved to a new channel and broadcasted between 11am and 4pm. Sky Soap eventually ceased transmission on 30th April 1999 due to poor viewing figures.
