
Sky Travel started broadcasting in August 1994, it originally shared the same channel as The Christian Channel, Sky Soap, The History Channel, Sky Sports 2 and The Sci-Fi Channel. Up until September 1997 it was on weekdays from 7am until 12pm, then from September it moved to Sky Movies Gold when it was on Weekdays from 11am until 4pm. The channel retained those hours until 2001, when it went 7 days a week.

Today Sky Travel is available on every digital platform - Sky Digital, NTL and Freeview. Sky Digital viewers also have Sky Travel +1 and Sky Travel Shop a 24 hour holiday shopping channel.

Sky Travel would repeat popular entertainment shows previously shown on Sky One like Ibiza Uncovered. This ident would be show before such a programme.
