The BBC's live cricket swansong was the 1999 World Cup and this clip features highlights of the final. The BBC dropped out of live cricket coverage at this point as Channel 4 took over domestic cricket coverage.

Until 2001 Final Score was a segment within Grandstand. Before then Final Score was only a programme in its own right on bank holidays.

As a companion to the 2002 tournament, BBC Sport put together a series looking back at four recent tournaments. The first programme took a silver anniversary look at the 1977 event which saw Virginia Wade win in front of the Queen. The other tournaments featured were 1985, 1992 and 2001.2003

2009
The Football League Show
After more than 20 years on ITV, Football League coverage returned to the BBC. BBC Sport decided to launch a separate programme rather than incorporate the highlights into Match of the Day. Manish Bhasin transferred from Football Focus to present the show.
Formula 1
The BBC got back the rights to Formula One for the 2009 season because ITV wanted to divert money to ensure it retained access to football's Champions League. The BBC decided to retain its famous theme tune, albeit with the now seemingly obligatory sound effects. BBC1 shows live race coverage with the highlights now being shown on digital channel BBC3, as seen in this clip.
Football Focus
Football Focus 2009: Dan Walker took over presenting duties when Manish Bhasin was transferred to The Football League Show.
Final Score
Ray Stubbs moved to ESPN at the start of the 2009/10 season so a new presenter had to be found for Final Score and Gabby Logan was chosen to host BBC Sport's football results programme.
The Super League Show
Harry Gration presents the weekly round-up of action from rugby league's Premier League. The programme's first showing is only broadcast in the north of England with the rest of the UK having to rely on a middle-of-the-night repeat on BBC2 or the BBC's website to get their weekly rugby league fix.2010
