2000 Belgium and the Netherlands played hosts to the European Championships in 2000. As usual the beeb pulled out a nice classical number to introduce their coverage.

Word Cup Match of the Day
2002 Brazil beat Germany 2-0 to win the 2002 World Cup, co-hosted by Japan and South Korea.
